I was assigned to make a sculpture out of only one material. It also had to be as tall as myself and it had to be standing on its own. The shapes in the nature surrounding me always inspires me. In this case a big walnut tree in my garden caught my eye. I sawn a branch off of the tree and I used a blow torch and gouges. Nothing that would add a material to it, I only took material off. I followed the natural flow of the branch and highlighted the knots by leaving spaces open.
